Ball screws are the most commonly used transmission element in tool machinery and precision machinery. Its main function is to convert rotary motion into linear motion or torque into axial repeated force. At the same time, it has the characteristics of high efficiency, high precision, high speed-feeding and micro-feeding, high axial stiffness and reversibility.
1. Low friction loss and high transmission efficiency:
Because many balls are rolling between the screw shaft and the screw nut of the ball screws, higher movement efficiency can be obtained. Compared with the previous sliding screw, the driving torque is less than 1/3, that is, the power required to achieve the same motion result is 1/3 of that of the sliding screw. It is very helpful in saving electricity.
2. High-precision:
Ball screws are generally produced continuously with the highest level of mechanical equipment in the world, especially in the grinding, assembly and inspection processes in the factory environment. Temperature and humidity are strictly controlled. Due to the perfect quality management system, accuracy is fully guaranteed.
3. High-speed feeding and micro-feeding can be realized:
Because the ball screws use balls to move, the starting torque is very small, and there will be no crawling phenomenon such as sliding, which can ensure accurate micro-feed.
4. High axial stiffness:
The ball screws can be pre-tightened, because the pre-tightening can make the axial clearance reach a negative value, thus obtaining higher rigidity (by adding a pre-tightening force to the balls in the ball screw, when it is used in a mechanical device, etc., because the repulsive force of the balls can increase the rigidity of the female part).
5. Not self-locking, with reversibility of transmission:
The failures of ball screws are various, and there is no fixed mode. Some failures are gradual, and there must be a development process, which becomes more and more serious with the increase in service time.
